All of us have our spiritual walk in this lifetime. Others experience a one-time moment of deep awakening that changes their worldview. Nevertheless, more and more seekers realize that gradual reawakenings represent their spiritual awakening process.

Multiple spiritual awakenings can occur due to the cyclical nature of spiritual growth instead of a single occurrence. As we wake up and grow and encounter new life situations, new opportunities are given to us to awaken to yet greater realizations of both ourselves and reality.

In this blog post, we shall discuss what awakening encounters might imply in the life of an individual. We are also going to provide advice on how to go through the second awakening, based on the experience of people who have walked this path already. I hope that by giving a voice and a model of many awakenings, perhaps, I will not only give an insight, but also empower your own awakening story.

Definition of Spiritual Awakenings: Awakenings vs Initial Shifts

That being the case, let us then look at the various spectra of experiences that can be encountered…

1. The Cosmic Teaser: First Change

There is a teaser of cosmic awakening before the magnificent finale. It is like the world gives you a wink and says, Psst, there is more. These nudges present you with opportunities outside of your scrolling Netflix playlist.

This isn’t an awakening per se, but it is a precursor to the main event and signals that it will be coming up ahead, so be sure to prepare yourself and watch out for these familiar signs…

Familiar Strangeness: Have you ever had a feeling like deja vu? Or did you meet an old soul? That is the Universe poking you to get ready, telling you that a change is coming!
Synchronicities: The universe is full of deductions – serendipitous meetings, puzzling dreams, or the flutter of a butterfly at the right moment.
Cosmic Whispers: Your intuition becomes more alert, and you begin to increase your psychic awareness.

2. The Great Awakening

Strap yourself down, since awakening is cosmic fireworks. They break out with deep wisdom, stunning your mind cloud. Then all of a sudden, you look outside the matrix – the curtain is curling, and you are drinking galactic tea with the galaxies. What you are likely to find looks like this:

Mystical Moments: Image: a unicorn doing a tap dance on a rainbow. That is an awakening, all right.
Reality Remix: Old perspectives? Shattered. You’re now surfing the quantum waves.
Everyday Triggers: Life events, losses, drastic changes, and even ill health awakenings can spring from anywhere.

Emerging Signs of a Second Awakening (or Second ‘Wave’)

So, having learned the distinction between the precursor and the very happening of the awakening, let us carry this one step further.

Is it possible to have a second awakening? Completely – but it is all a matter of perception. I suppose it is through this spiritual awakening that I believe that one will not necessarily have another awakening, but that the process goes in surges, we go at full throttle- maybe weeks, years- and then our energies have been saturated and rest a bit till the next wave comes. By this I mean not the multiplicity of awakening experiences as such so much as the multiplicity of WAVES of awakening, also because they can be so many years of a lifespan, with huge spaces in time between them, not just several awakening experiences, but you call it whatever term you like.

Spiritual awakening is all individual according to the personality and the life of the individual. Nevertheless, there are always some indicators that tend to appear during the second wave of the awakening stage. So, let us take a look at some of them:

Strong purification: On the one hand, you will continue to go deeper and dispose of old patterns that do not support your development. It seems to be easy to detach.
Greater self-understanding: You gain sensitivity in understanding more about yourself, where you did not notice anything concerning that you did before in the previous perception shift.
Wisdom: One gets access to wisdom more naturally when they are faced with difficult tasks.
Reconnection with spirit: You are reconnected with the divine, and your instincts may go up to a great extent.

Why Avoiding the First ‘Wave’ Of Awakening Can Lead to Misery

Of course, not everyone faces subsequent ‘waves’ of awakening. The process of spiritual development does not usually have a form. Possibly, some will have had one momentous awakening in life, and others will have had a series of illuminations.

However, difficulty arises when resistance or lack of support causes us to sidestep a spiritual awakening calling us. This rejection so ignores the truths that would set people free. Denial becomes cemented in the face without working on it on the inside and engenders suffering.

I’ve seen time and time again in my 1:1 sessions with my spiritually awakening clients (and in my awakening too) that when we avoid or resist the process, the problems we have dodged always crop back up in some way or another to be healed and cleared. This can often lead to awakening becoming more intense and unrelenting (but don’t worry, there is a way to make this faster and easier – actively choose to heal using energy healing BEFORE these issues get a chance to manifest in your life).

Getting a Second Chance at Your Spiritual Journey

Life often gifts second chances when missed opportunities emerge again. A recurring awakening can provide just such an opportunity. After a context and a framework within which to view things, you can face the beckoning of your soul the second time, much better prepared.

Whereas the action of resistance or avoidance had made you miss out on your spiritual bus earlier, you now have an option of stepping on this time. Having learned lessons of denial’s effects, you’re encouraged to surrender instead. This is giving up so you can fully transcend into your true identity and destiny (although I will tell you the truth, it is not so easy!).

This might sound like quite a lot to embrace, but please trust me when I say, accepting that this transformation is happening to you and doing whatever you can to take care of yourself WHILE the process occurs, is one of the best things you can do.

The way Spiritual Awakenings may Happen More than once

Although every awakening is individual, there are familiar patterns that various awakenings follow. We will now assess the archetypal phases that the awakening people tend to go through depending on their paths.

1. Initial awakening	The first glimpse behind the wall of what is, and begets a spiritual interest.
2. Subsequent ‘waves’	The wisdom of joining the first impression.
3. Deepened awakening	By getting increasing clarity in the course of inner work.
4. Continual growth	Continuous understanding of the secrets of life is in the process.

Experiencing phases such as these enables us to explain the concept of spiritual awakening in the form of a developing event, that is, something that occurs many times. The awakened see themselves not as “enlightened” but always enlightening.

How To Get the Right People After Your Awakening Experience

A portion of the process of successfully going through successive awakenings is the development of healthy support systems. This will involve acceptance of assistance by counselors, healers, spiritual mentors, or spiritual groups.

Community offers loving reflections to confirm our humanity when we are tempted to be lonely. Counselors suspend difficult emotional places we need to explore in a deep place. Spiritual guides provide lessons that help to incorporate new forms of wisdom into our enlarged perceptions.

With or without, the development of wisdom beings feeds every emergent stage of spiritual progress. Their love and expertise pave easier roads through inevitable challenges inherent to expanding consciousness (and there’s no award for getting there entirely on your own!).

My Story of Multiple Awakening ‘Waves’ and Finding My Way

As with most of us on a spiritual journey, my awakening process did not occur in a single experience; it was a dual awakening process over ten years. They both have had a significant influence on my perception of the purpose and meaning of life, but they came about in thoroughly different ways and at completely different processing levels.

My first awakening was abrupt when I entered early adulthood and had a major life change after much soul-searching. One minute, a veil was pulled up, and I had a new reconceptualization of things in terms of their interconnectedness and their unlimited possibility. Hysterical, but truth be told, bottomless, I plunged into the world of spiritual energy healing and practices in search of grounding, which took years.

Not much later, another change fell upon the world, not with a bang, but a gasp. Below a superficial crust of apparent normalcy, changes were more gradual, but not less intense. And the old wounds opened up because I broke down defenses and life offered me another chance to connect with purpose more often and more frequently, and this current process of gaining the new awareness (of healing) is still a-workin’ (but it becomes so much easier – I promise!).

Every unfolding allowed seeing new things and realizations of the continuity of the spiritual way. I must admit that I did not have a teacher or a Guru to walk me through this process, so I had to figure out how by trial and error, which, even though it was very difficult, it made me gain enough experience and many insights so that I would be able to walk other people through the processes of their awakening and effective methods that work.

My experiences reveal that awakenings come in life as we discover it, and each time we are drawn further and further into our inner depths by whatever lessons come our way. The guidance of the Elders on the path is the only way to make sense of the peculiarity of calling and deal with the bewitching world of the unknown.

Conclusion: Accepting Whatever You Are at Your Spiritual Stage

The experience of an individual awakening or a series of awakenings, aka waves, either way, gives us wind in our sails, allowing us to navigate the seas of existence. Life is full of opportunities to explore the inner, expand our notions of who we are and who we are not, and polish our procedures of traversing our world.

No matter where you are today, whether you think you are called or pushing back, remember your rhythm and timing. Believe in your ability to develop in any conditions. Keep fostering whatever has appeal to you.
